Iron Giant - Dean

Hey all, it has been a while. Last Friday I said to Andy, "hey Man, what's the topic going to be today - I'll have time to draw today!"...babonggg....a week as passed with no opportunity to draw but today was the day I got to it! I don't know where to begin or end about The Iron Giant....what a great movie...an underrated classic and I cry every time in that cataclysmic scene as soon as the Giant says "Superman"...oops almost a little teary thinking about it. B&W for me this week...may colour it at some stage - it's begging for it, but I'm done for the day :)

After seeing Andy's awesome colours, I decided to go Black and White. Fun theme, well picked guys.

You may have worked out by now that I like the Iron Giant. He may be a giant robot, but damn is he huggable. I'm not exactly sure if this is what his back looks like. Turns out someone has my Iron Giant DVD. If it is returned soon I will see no reason to get the authorities involved.

Theme 42 - THE IRON GIANT

aka the greatest animated feature film of all time. Disagree? SUCK IT! This movie has everything, including a Rockwellian 50's township, nuclear war propaganda films, the cold war, beatniks, Superman references (how about that for a segway from last weeks theme!) and a GIANT FREAKING ROBOT. Most importantly though, this film has heart:

"You are who you choose to be".

This week should be a blast. Did I mention the robot?
