2-1B aka That Surgical Droid - Andy

I love the crusty hand made robots as much as i love the rubber mask aliens.
Anway, I hope to have a little more time for my Houdini's posts in coming weeks. Cheers!

The only good droid, is a dead droid - Egor

Apologies work is stupidly busy so drawing something of substance has been a little hard.

Droids - Seb

I really like to try and think outside the box with these weekly sketches. I like to think of the character that no one else will bother with.

Yer but this time i did C-3PO =P

4-LOM - Drew

Another week, another droid bounty hunter.. Not that droid bounty hunters are common in the Star Wars universe, theyre actually quite rare. 4-LOM is a very cool droid though. He started off as a protocol droid much like C3PO but overcame his programming and started a process of self-evolution. First he became a master thief, then a bounty hunter, where he teamed up with Zuckuss. He planned on learning the Gand's intuitive techniques to foresee the future, and amazingly even succeeds in his meditations. A droid without limitations, he even foresees a future where hes learning to master the force and become a jedi...

Theme 63 - Star Wars pt4 Droids

Part four marks the final instalment of our month long umbrella theme of Star Wars. So what better way to end than the Droids. Robots are cool and they make great background filler (according to Lucas anyway).

Have a great weekend all

Boba Fett - Egor

Sorry guys couldnt pass up the chance to draw the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy. First time I've drawn him and until now never realized how complex and colourful his outfit is. Nor is he very sleek and yet not exactly big and chunky. Goes against the norms in terms of shape and build. What Im trying to say is - he was a lot tricker to draw than I thought.....

IG-88 - Drew

Some of my favourite characters are the bounty hunters of the Star Wars universe. I was going do the lot of them aboard the Executor but instead just did this quick thing of my favourite IG-88. A sentient assassin droid who shares his mind amongst four copies, the last of which died after uploading his mind to the second death star.

Crazy killer robots with ideas of grandeur.. heck yea!

Porkins - Seb

Red 6 standing by

Rebel Fleet Trooper - Andy

I, like Will, love the first scene of A New Hope but I can't help but feel sorry for the little guys that got mowed down by Vader and his Stormtroopers. I love their cumbersome helmets with their little antennas and their complete lack of any body armour.

I was going to to do an X-wing, but watching and re-watching the final scenes of A New Hope you quickly realise that the Rebel Fighters couldn't strategically outflank a turtle.

Wedge Antilles - Drew

When it comes to rebel fighters, you cant do better than Wedge Antilles. The only pilot to play a part in taking down both Death Stars, plus who tripped up the AT-AT on Hoth, Wedge thats who. Then after the movies he takes command of Rogue Squadron and goes kicking ass all over the galaxy.

Wedge flies circles around everyone, except maybe a Skywalker..

Theme 62 - Star Wars pt3. Pond Scum

Yes, Vader was the baddest mofo this side of the galaxy. Yes the Emperor's reach was far and wide. But they weren't the only gansta killers posing a threat to our rebellious heroes.

This weeks theme focuses on the other evil doers of the Star Wars franchise.

The scope is pretty extensive when you think about it, which allows for a lot of freedom.

Have a good weekend all

Stormtroopers - Andy

This started as a drawing exercise, but I've been enjoying the 'pop' elements at the moment so I just went with it. Zap!

Theme 61 - Star Wars pt2 or the Empire Strikes Back!

Well done everyone for a very impressive last week. Continuing our Star Wars theme this week we look at the Rebellion or the 'good guys'.

Choose you favourite Rebel fighter - can be anyone you want from any of the Star Wars related franchises BUT....

and theres always a BUT...

The exception is NO Jedi's, for that matter no main characters of any kind ie Han, Chewy...

Think the little guy, the guy/gal who had 10 seconds of screen time and perhaps only one memorable line of dialogue!

Have fun guys and keep on drawing!

Stormtroopers - Drew

My favourite stormtroopers are the ones from Tatooine on the search for droids. While they may be as incompetent as the rest, at least they have cool orange shoulder pads..

Knocked this out quite quickly this evening after seeing Heath's fab speedbiker so its nothing special, single layered big brush minor touch ups..

Storm Trooper - Egor

Okay I know the Speeder Bikes not very accurate - thats what you get for drawing from memory. Although I think all the Storm Troopers are awesome these guys came with super cool motor bikes!

Theme 60 - Star Wars

We're going to try something a little different this week. Some of the guys were asking or have been wanting to do a series of themes, so.....

For the next 4 weeks there will be weekly themes that tie into the overall theme of Star Wars. Why Star Wars, um because its cool and lends itself well to multiple themes.

Week 1 - Storm Trooper.

The little guy that makes the Empire so darn powerful. Invading different planets throughout the cosmos means these guys have had to adapt for all kinds of conditions and terrains, Not to mention the dudes flying, building and controlling all that tech.

So who is it? which of the Darth Vaders minions is your fav Storm Trooper.

Shaak Ti - Leigh

Well this whole finish an illustration in a week things hasn't really been working for me as I have a lot of unfinished works that I'm just not going to get to a level I want. so here is Shaak Ti for the Star Wars parts 2 and 3, designed by the awesome Ian McCaig one the lead designer for most of the Star Wars parts 1,2 and 3

Kit Fisto - Andy

I'm sorry. It's true. I picked a character from the new trilogy. Shun! Shun!
But in fairness, I think it's fair to say I picked the coolest Jedi. Coolest looking, anyway.
Yes, there are hundreds of characters I could of picked, but it was always either gunna be Kit or Chewy, and who could be bothered with all that fur?

Han vs Ton Ton - Egor

I guess this is more of a scene than a character sketch but I wanted to do something with Han that wasnt the norm.

This is all Photoshop (no scanned sketch) and from memory, so excuse the inaccuracy of the Tom Tom (is that even what there called?).

(see comments for name correction - thanks).

014 - The force be with you!

It had to happen. Heck Im surprised its taken this long. Star Wars. favourite character, do it. We will do a more specific theme on this later, but for now go nuts.
