Kraven the Hunter - Egor

Kraven the Hunter. Cant remember actually reading a comic with Kraven in it. Still his a pretty big villain in the Spdey mythos, surprised he hasnt been chosen for any of the movies. I think his just cool as heck, had fun drawing him.

Hobgoblin - Egor

I always liked Hobby over Green Goblin. He was more menacing and less of a Joker knock off. I like the introduction of Orange and Gaulish Mask. When I first started reading comics the rise of the Hobgoblin saga was being reprinted in Marvel Tales so I think he'll always be a favourite.

Rhino - Egor

This week's bad guy - the Rhino. I like the simplicity of the character. What you see is what you get big, strong muscle guy and not to bright. Oddly enough I havent read that many comics where the Rhino has been the sole villain for an entire issue, its usually more of a support role.

Seb - Kingpin

I am definitely going to finish this one off for myself later on, it was a lot of fun to sketch.

Scorpion - Egor

The first comic I ever read was Amazing Spiderman #342. The story featured a powerless Spidey fighting the villainy of the Scorpion - drawn by the dynamic Erik Larsen. I've been a fan of the Scorpion ever since.

Spidey Villains

Apologies for the very late post. Work commitments came up...

So I've been watching the Ultimate Spiderman carton series. Its fun, really fun. Its how I remember reading spidey comics as a kid. At some point someone decided to make Spidey all grown up and winey. Thankfully the carton sets him up as a teenager at school. Theres a lot of liberties and not exactly true to comic law, but its all great. The only thing Id question is the choice of White Tiger on the team? they already have a super ninja so why not Firestar instead?

Anywho Im rambling. This week marks the start of a 4 week epic of Spiderman Villains. I know we've done this theme before, but its just to much fun not to do again (or 4).
Im gonna keep things open each week. Draw some of your favourites completely up to you.

Spidey villain - Punisher - Leigh

Spidey's gang of villains is strange, there are those I don't like and those that look stupid and I couldn't think of any others, so I drew Punisher.

Mysterio - Drew

I went with a spidey villain i hadnt heard of before, even though he seems like a big player, part of the Sinister Six with several incarnations, include a zombie Mysterio. I liked Mysterio cos he didnt have any super powers or futuristic gadgets, and he was in it for the pure fun almost, evil just to be evil, or at least thats what i read..

Did a bit of photo-montage for this one, so its taken a little longer than id have liked, was gonna halftone it up too for that authentic comic feel but it took away all the photo work..

Electro - Andy

I'm with Egor on this one: bold colours, simple powers. I love characters that the casual observer would label as 'stupid looking'. Sure it's goofy, but, let me tell you this: You'll never mistake him for the Human Torch.

I love Electro's goofy costume.

I really wanted to scale back to just black and white illustrations but some topics are tooooo cool.
Damn you, Egor!

Shocker!! -Egor

Okay, so the Shockers' not exactly in Spideys 'A' league of bad guys, but I've always thought he looked pretty cool. Sleek suite, bold colour, simply powers nothing complicated about this one.

008 - Spidey Villians

WOW! Great zombie sketches by everyone and before the end of the week to boot! Well done guys.
This week. Spiderman Villains. Aside from Batman I think Spidey has the most colourfully and unique set of villains in any comic. Alot of whom get overlooked. So this week pick your fav and go nuts.
On a side note. Im really happy and impressed with the way the blogs going. 8 weeks and still going strong. I have what I think, is a great theme worked out to celebrate week ten - so stay turned I really think everyone will enjoy!
