Tin Tin

Well staying true to form, I missed several weeks of topics and I am late with yet another submission! So this is my Tin Tin. I wanted to combine some key visual elements from the original Tin Tin series. For example the colours used in the character designs and the eyes. I feel the eyes in Herge's character's were very simple, but at the same time were essential in capturing the real essence of his characters. I combined these key elements with a typical mainstream comic book style. I must say I am happy with the final result. Thanks again team, your patience knows no bounds!

Cuthbert Calculus - Fast Eddy

I always liked the Cuthbert Calculus character in Tintin so I looked into him this week and found that he was based on a real life professor called Auguste Piccard. So I based my illustration this week on him more than Cuthbert. It was done with Biro and then scanned in and messed with in Photoshop.

Tin Tin - Andy

If you haven't worked out yet I've been playing with light for the last few weeks. I wanted to do Tin Tin in space but I've done space a bit recently. Then I was going to put him in the depths of a dark Egyptian vault, but their wasn't enough background. So now he's in paris! Thanks google maps!

Tin Tin - Egor

Anytime I try to do something more than a pin up or sketch, things get complicated and in general less fun. But for Tin Tin I just had to set a scene - put a little story into the pic.

Theme 49 - Tin Tin

This week the saw the release of the official Tin Tin trailer.

Despite how good it looks and some serious names behind it, I have my doubts if it can stand up to the artistic brilliance of Hergé. That said this weeks theme will see us taking a stab.
