I know this one is a bit boring but I was up for the challenge of drawing Sean Connery's face! And I don't think I really got there in the end but I tell you I tried! It's amazing how one false move with the pencil can change that person's identity. One eyelash can change them from warm to cold! Argh!
One thing I'm realising with this blog is how hard likenesses are and you are totally right: One line can alter the face so much that they become a totally different person. And you've done this in pencil!
ReplyDeleteI would have done this on computer and revised it a hundred times and still not gotten close to the likeness that you've achieved here. Great!
Could not agree with you guys more. Its a real talent to capture a persons likeness, not an easy task at all. I think you've done a great job Eddy. Also agree with Andy - computers are great, but you can tweak something to much and ruin a pict completely (something Im currently having trouble with).
ReplyDeleteThanks heaps guys, appreciate it. This blog is a great chance to learn all that stuff and hone those skills. Yes using the computer gives the chance to go back and forward so then i spose the skill comes with knowing where to stop.
ReplyDeleteAlso meant to add. If you guys are interested there is a life drawing session that runs every thursday night 7pm at Synergy Gallery 253 High St Northcote for $15. You can ring Adrian on 0422 409 946 for details.
