The idea was to not do any one particular Bond actor, but to catch the vibe of the character. Did I achieve this goal? Probably not; he could be a gangster looking at him now, but dammit! it'll have to do.

Bond, James Bond - Andy
As discussed with Fast Eddy below, and prior to that in my Houdini post, likenesses are hard. With this Bond illustration I sez to myself: "Andy, why do a likeness?" And I, being reasonable, sez: 'Good point.'

Im loving the style for this one.
ReplyDeleteGreat finish!
Although ive never really pictured Bond with a Kalashnikov...
Should we be worried that the bearded Whelshmen knows the name of the gun?
ReplyDeleteGreat pict Andy. I get that its Bond - not to many gangsters wear tuxedos.
I was thinking maybe we should be worried that the Whelshman did know the name of the gun and that was his issue with the pic!! lol nice one guys!
ReplyDeleteBond has used Kalahnikovs, mostly in situations were he has to punch out a Russian then takes his gun.
ReplyDeleteIt's totally bond! And what a great idea to have his face cropped out! Nice one!
ReplyDeleteI read a great little theory that in the world of Bond there really has been 6 different James Bonds, all orphans raised by the British government to be spies, and that the name is just as much a title as 007. That's why they're all similar but different.
ReplyDeleteIt's still Bond man, likeness or no likeness...I think that's the good thing - it could be any Bond...not having his face in there lends itself to the undercover persona of the character too (i'm sure you were thinking of that;))!! Top class Andi stuff
